Top Trainer Fitness ("we", "us", "Top Trainer") provides an iOS application that helps you train smarter using AI-generated workout programs, form analysis, and coaching. Your trust matters — this Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, where it lives, and what rights you have.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Account information

When you create an account, we collect:

Email address (always required)
Authentication identifier when you sign in with Apple or Google (a stable opaque token, not your full Apple ID / Google credentials)
Display name (optional — provided through your sign-in provider or entered manually)

1.2 Profile information

During the in-app onboarding wizard you may provide:

Age, gender, height, weight
Profile photo (optional)
Short bio (optional)
Fitness goal and equipment availability

1.3 Workout and training data

Workout logs (sets, reps, weights, durations, distances)
Programs and routines you create or save
Body-weight measurements (when you record them)
Photos and videos you record inside the app (e.g. lift form videos, weigh-in photos)

1.4 AI coaching conversations

When you chat with Max (the in-app AI coach) or request a program / routine, we store the conversation history so the AI has context on past sessions and so you can scroll back through earlier exchanges.

1.5 Subscription and purchase information

Subscriptions and add-on packs are processed by Apple. We receive from Apple your transaction identifier, product identifier, purchase date, expiration date, and trial status — but never your credit-card or Apple-ID password.

1.6 Diagnostic and usage information

We use PostHog to collect anonymized usage telemetry — screens viewed, feature taps, and crash diagnostics. This data is tied to a randomly-generated device identifier, not your email or name. You can opt out at any time from your iOS system settings.

2. How we use information

To provide the service. Your account, profile, workouts, and chat history power every feature in the app.
To personalize coaching. Max uses your past workouts, preferences, and goals to generate plans and answers tailored to you.
To process payments. Subscription state from Apple unlocks Pro features and enforces usage caps.
To improve the product. Anonymous PostHog telemetry tells us which screens are loved, which are confusing, and where the app crashes.
To communicate with you. If you contact our support email, we'll reply.

3. Where your data lives

Your account, profile, workouts, programs, chat history, and uploaded media are stored on Supabase in the United States. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (AES-256). Each record is scoped to your account via row-level security; only your authenticated app sessions can read or write your rows.

4. AI processing partners

To power coaching and form analysis we send relevant portions of your messages and media to specialized AI services:

Anthropic (Claude) — coaching chat, program generation, daily summaries. Processed under Anthropic's enterprise terms; not used to train Anthropic's models.
Google (Gemini) — video and image analysis. Processed under Google's Gemini API terms; not used to train Google's consumer models.

Each provider receives only the data necessary for the specific task (e.g. a video you ask to be analyzed is sent to Gemini — your password is not, your other workouts are not).

5. What we never do

We never sell your data to third parties.
We never share your data with advertisers.
We never use your photos, videos, or chat history to train external AI models.
We never display ads in the app, on the website, or in any communication.

6. Your rights

Regardless of where you live, you have the right to:

Access a copy of the data we hold on you.
Correct inaccurate information through the in-app Profile screen.
Delete your account at any time. The in-app Profile → Advanced → Delete Account flow permanently removes every workout, program, photo, chat message, and AI conversation tied to your account. There is no undo. Email us at toptrainerapp@icloud.com if you need help.
Export your data. Email us and we'll send you a JSON archive of everything we hold.
Opt out of analytics. Disable PostHog by turning off "App Tracking" for Top Trainer in iOS Settings.

If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK-GDPR, or CCPA. Contact us at toptrainerapp@icloud.com to exercise any of them.

7. Children

Top Trainer is rated 17+ and is not directed at users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it immediately.

8. Medical disclaimer

Top Trainer provides general fitness guidance, not medical advice. Always consult a qualified physician before beginning a new exercise program, especially if you have a medical condition or injury.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be surfaced in the app and on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of Top Trainer after a change constitutes acceptance.
